Students have the chance to learn a new skill each week and to practice applying the skills learned in fun games with other members of their group.
Our program is suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to top-level junior players.
Sessions are generally held at the following times:
- Before school
- After school
School chess classes typically run for 50 minutes.
In addition to our standard term-long chess program, Dark Horse Chess also offer the following:
- Half or full-day chess incursions
- Specialised small-group training
- Integrating chess into the school curriculum
Our fees for standard School Chess Classes is $12 per child per class (inc. GST), with a minimum of 9 children in a class.
If you’re interested in setting up a chess program at your school, please email email@example.com for more information. We look forward to hearing from you!
Classes typically run weekly throughout the term for 50 minutes, either before school, at lunch time, or after school.
We also offer a full-day chess incursion, which is a popular option for schools who would like to provide all students with a ‘taster’ of chess. We can also integrate chess lessons into the school curriculum, or provide specialised small-group coaching for students preparing for a particular tournament.
